In the era of information technology we cannot think about our existence without internet. From a school going child to a researcher everyone requires quick information to do their work. Internet is the best platform to collect required information quickly and easily. Needless to say that online competency is highly deserved.

Providing correct and relevant information to the online visitors is utmost important tasks to all online players. To provide relevant information you should know your business first. What product you are going to sell or what services you are going to render. Then define your business in one or two words. These words or phrases are main keywords or key phrases for your sites. These words will be searched by your probable visitors to reach the product they want or the product you are selling. For example say your site is dealing with dresses, cloths, necessities for women. You may like to define your business, which sell women accessories. So here you can consider ‘women accessories’ as your main keywords for your online business.

Now search for your keywords, see which sites are coming top in the SERPs. Those sites are your competitor sites. Analyze those sites. Which keywords they have opted, how informative they are as per their chosen keywords, how is their navigational structure, what is their anchor text. How popular they are in the world of web. Who are their online partners? Besides these try to know their USP. Know their product/service specialization and product/service specifications. Once you have this information now create your own USP. Be creative and try to provide something very unique to your customer. Now it’s the time to do some homework. Let’s follow the following steps:

• Select Keywords: Selecting right keywords is the main mantra of online business. Choosing right keywords for your site or for your online business should be done first. Many free tools are available for choosing relevant keywords but those tools provide basic ideas or guidelines to select keywords. However to reach your customer you need to dig deep into these process. To start with the process first I will prefer to opt for synonymous keyword search, which is also known as “Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)”.

Always have synonymous key phrases which will help you during algorithm updates of major search engine. Tweak your keywords when required. Have country specific keywords. Different countries are having different expressions, terminology and spellings. For example if you are an India based company, selling women accessories, it would be preferable to have phrases like “Accessories for Indian Women”. Don’t forget to check your site position to Google.co.in or anything like that. Last but not the least has page specific keywords.

• Choose your domain name: After all you are known by your name. When people talk about you, think about you they do take your name. Similarly when people will think about your site they will think of it by your site name. So if the site name is the site URL then it would be easier for your visitors to reach your site easily. As your site is dealing with “women accessories”, so it would be better to have your site URL as womenaccessories.com instead of mybusiness.com or anything like that.

• Plan a sitemap: Simplest form of your website. Sitemap will provide you the bird view of your whole business. Later on upload this page as sitemap page for your website.

• Gather information: Collect information regarding the country wise legal issues related to online business.

• Prepare Content: Provide information which is absolutely relevant to the user query. You might be a good writer but visitor might not have much time to read the whole article. So don’t make them bore with unnecessary text or heavy words. Be precise and informative.

• Design Pages: Guide your visitor for what they are searching and direct them towards what you ultimately want them to do. Little bold text may be the whole story about your site.

• Optimize page title tag: Every page does describe few new lines, every page does have its unique identity, and every page should have its own title that describes the page content at a glance. Title of a product page should definitely differ from the title of the privacy policy page of a site. Don’t forget every page every line is guiding your visitor to reach the point where you want them to be and where they will feel satisfied with the relevant information. So start at the top at Title Tag.

• Host your site in a dedicated server: Ask your host to provide a dedicated IP. Dedicated IP denotes that IP is for your site. That is all alone assigned for a specific site. Many shared server do carry related sites, which may not be considered good in eyes of search engines.

My Day…

29^th June, It’s my day. Why??? I got married on this day just 3 years back. Yes dear today is my 3^rd wedding anniversary. Thank you; thank you for your wishes. Like to know how I have passed these three years, what’s our planning today?

Well, these three years were full of events starting from the day one till today. When I look back I feel I walked along a way where I have learnt a lot, experiences the better and the bitter, managed a lot and lastly improved myself. Yes I can say I am a better Susmita now.

I can remember the joy we shared together, tears we shredded for silly reasons. Fight we had for different opinions and lastly we planned for a common goal. Briefly said, these three years walking motivated us to move forward, look forward and many more events to leave behind.

How you would like to see yourself in five years from today? – I have faced this question so many times but nobody asked me that how you see your past days from today? Well I look back and feel deprived as I feel I haven’t yet done anything special in my life. Then again I look back and I feel proud of myself as I have done something which so many people can not do, I have got something which so many people don’t have. So I look forward to do many more things in my future life. Oh… I am bit emotional today, well when I write I am always.

Ok back to solid earth; let me clear you one thing don’t disturb me when I will be having my dinner with my husband today. Don’t give me a call or neither expect a call from me. We haven’t yet planned for our destiny but I can assure that you will not get us in our house till 2 a.m. 30^th June.

I am back…

Its long back I had written in my blog. I am sorry. It is nothing but my negligence. Why this negligence? May be I had no news to share, or I had lack of words or I had no time. Whatever the reason it was, it seems to me mere excuse. I should have spent little bit time with you all. Had you ever came here to find me? Ooo…I am privileged.

Ok, to keep you updated, let me inform you that few events had took places in my life.

Before that with the continuation of the last post, I must inform that my mom, she didn’t come to my house on 25^th December 2006 and I didn’t had “garam garam kachori and jallebi” and we didn’t had a journey towards divine. Yea she didn’t come. MOM I missed you lot. Every day and night I missed you. (Only reason I found for not blogging, moment I came to my blog I saw the last post and left my blog unwritten.) I know you were stuck with all the other responsibilities and I was a silent watcher. Even we had very little conversations on those days. Well these are past stories. Because she came to my house on 21^st June 2007. Ohh… after a long gap. Yea after ten months. Guys these time I had “garam garam kachori and jallebi”, I had bed tea. Things, which I have always craved for. Oh! Yea… My mom, she is the most sweetest, cutest and beautiful woman in this universe I have ever seen.

I know, I know I am emotional today. Is it wrong?

Well guys I will not take much of your time. I am writing because I am happy.

Regarding all the events, we (me and my husband) shifted to our own comfy and cozy flat. I have little new furniture for my new flat, recently my elder brother and my sister-in-law gifted me a beautiful niece.

Looking forward to Christmas

It’s once again the holy Christmas time. Time of celebration has come around the world. It’s the time to bring Santa to your home. It’s time for that famous winter holiday season which brings along a reason for family members to reunite.

Though, Christmas falls on 25^th December but the famous Christmas traditions of exchanging gifts and cards begin long before. I am also in my best spirits and am looking forward to spend quality times with my family and friends. My two sets of parents (mom & dad and mom & dad (in laws)) are supposed to visit us. My house though small, is cozy enough to spread the warmth of love amongst us, and turn the chillie winter evenings into warm and loving family gatherings.

I know, I know you guys must be curious enough to know about my activities during these days. Well… decided to get up at 9.00 a.m… will look for hot bed tea from mom, will ask dad to bring some “garam garam kachori and jallebi”, will shout unnecessarily not getting lunch at time then like to have a fine journey towards divine. That’s it from my side. What’s about you guys?

Never ending question: How to generate free traffic for sites

1. Try to have good keyword based informative contents in your site. Visitors do take 8 to 10 seconds time to see the site pages unless and until they feel the page is worth visiting. So optimize page with your targeted keywords or the searched keywords visitors can use to reach your site. For Example: If you are having a site, which provides online shopping system for dress materials for men, women and kids. So how you would like to optimize your page. You must have distinct category selection options, where you can have subsections for Men, Women and Kids. These subsections can include deeper sections like Ethnic wear, Casual wear, Formal Wear, Party Wear so that any visitor can choose his/her section very easily. Moreover you can add some product images with small description or with attractive contents to make the page more informative as well as more attractive. These quick informations will definitely invite your visitors for deep crawling.

2. Content is king and Internet based on information. Write good articles on targeted keywords and publish it on article sites. You will be able to earn good quality and valuable traffic. Internet users do search article directories for knowledge gathering, learning, and research work and for many other reasons. Do some research work on any topic, which is relevant to your online business, and write a good article and publish it in article directories.

3. Have a blog for your site or for your online business. You may name it as official blog. You can provide informations on latest technical up gradation of your sites or what’s going there in your place or you ca ask your people to contribute to that blog with relevant informations. Update it regularly with fresh content. Promote your site through your blog. For example you have declared a prize winning contests for the member of your sites you can promote this news through your blog. Link to other valued blogs. Start commenting on others blog.

4. If you are having any news in your pocket then please publish it. Go for press release. Take the advantage of media’s willingness to spread the story. Write a story or some professional to write it for you then publish it in a PR release site like PRWeb.

5. Participate in forum discussion. Instead of promoting your site aggressively you can be an expert by providing advice. You share those stories, which you came to know about very recently, and which are very helpful for your business field. Just share your views, knowledge and be a good participant in any famous forum. Use your site link as your signature link. Visitors are bound to come.

6. Link campaigning is not that bad if you can do that strategically. You know better than anyone about your competitors. With whom they are sharing some mutual benefits in search engine market. I mean who are their link partners. Collect some link from them. Enjoy some mutual benefit. But try to get incoming link from relevant and quality sites. Link from bad sites like adult sites, gambling sites will kill you forever. Take help of directory submission.

Google loves content ……. and what’s more

For long I haven’t updated my blog. Archive shows it was 5th August last when write something and posted it into my blog. And just after one month I have found Google stopped crawling my blog. And when I searched for my blog as well as for my name in Google there was no relevant result for me. It proves Google want regular fresh content for blog. However is it true for general sites too? A trip to Lava

Forgive me for not sharing the story with you all for long.

It was 12th August 2006 we had our office trip to Lava, We started from Sealdaha station at 10.05 p.m. by Darjelling mail. We spent a glorious time in the train. We reached at New Jalpaiguri at morning 9.00 a.m. Two buses were waiting there for us. We started for Lava at 10 a.m. Friends it was inexpressible experience for me. It was beautiful and dangerous. Beautiful lush green valleys are unforgettable and the curly road on the mountain and the sight of frequent landslides on valley was really dangerous. But all of us enjoyed 3 ours journey from NJP to lava. We were singing, dancing, taking snaps indeed with the encouragement of vodka. In lava we had our lunch and all of us started our expedition. It was only 4 p.m. but beneath the sky touched tall pine tree darkness come faster than our expectation.

Next day morning we went to lolegaon where we got a canopy in the dense forest. We all had gone for adventurous experience there. We came back and then next day morning went to dello, which is a zero point place. Where we got a nice park and we enjoyed a lot there.
